These last months and years seem to fly past us so fast. A new year started, again! I wish you a healthy and happy new year!
Health #
It’s the time when people decide on new years resolutions. I don’t have a list. I have only one: Health. It’s the most important one and there’s still room for improvement.
So I’ll keep riding my bike to work, do more walks, eat healthier and get more sleep. That’s a good start, right?
Kids #
The end of last year was challenging with the kids. They grow up (6 & 8) and new challenges arise. We’re lucky to have extra (external) support but it’s not a walk in the park.
Work #
Last year I celebrated my 17th year at Keytrade Bank. I have some days left before I start my 18th year.
It will be a challenging year for Keytrade. Some big projects are coming up. As a tech lead, I’ll try to keep pushing our team and give support where I can. Looking forward to yet another interesting year and learn new things.
Management wise, the CIO became CEO and we have a new CIO. I hope this combo can steer us to even greater things.
Me time #
I’ll keep spending my free time exploring new tech, learning new skills, listening to music (classic Sony Walkman on the way) and of course trying to keep writing here.
Coding #
Some stuff that changed past year:
- I’m using Kodus AI to review merge request (Claude API key).
- Replaced VS Code with Zed as my main IDE and use Claude here and there.
- Moving to European services instead of US ones (servers, CDN).
- Extended my homelab to tinker a bit more with automation.
- Self host git repositories in my homelab.
That’s it for now. Enjoy 2026!
